What it's for

Your greenhouse grows special fruits that you can ship from the harbor. You can get the seeds from a trader as soon as a temporary farm becomes available.

The greenhouse is a large production building on the Main farm where you grow special fruit like apricots, passion fruit, figs or elderberries, which then ship out into the world from the harbor. You buy the seeds for it from the trader only after the temporary farm has been unlocked, so it isn't a building for complete beginners. It covers a huge 14x32 area and can't be bought in the shop, it unlocks at player level 34. It's clearly an advanced building for exporting fruit, not for your everyday resource cycle.

When to build it

Build it the moment it unlocks at level 34, because the first level is free and has no build time. There's only any point in having one, the building is big enough that a second copy won't fit into any sensible farm layout.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading is worth it, because the yield from the same special seeds grows with each level, apricots from special seeds jump from 1856 at level one all the way to 2500 at the top level. Levels two and three are paid for in dollars, from level four onward it's gold only, so taking it all the way to max is more of a long-term goal.

Tip from a veteran playerBuy special seeds from the trader in batches based on how much fruit you actually need to ship out through the harbor, so nothing sits around unused.
Most common mistakePlayers build the greenhouse and leave it at level one even though they could afford levels two and three in dollars, and rob themselves of a much bigger yield from the same seeds.
