Point boosters in cooperative competitions

Big Farm runs several limited-time competitive events - the Cruise ship, the cooperative tour and the silo in three different versions - where points are earned from tasks or missions. Each of them has a booster you can buy that raises the number of points earned for a limited time, either only for me or for my whole Cooperative. They cost either Gold or Dollars, and the version I pick also decides who actually benefits from the bonus.

I see the cooperative (co-op) boosters as the strongest tool, because the whole cooperative draws on the effect at once, so they are worth using at the moment when several people are scoring points at the same time. The personal Dollar versions are more of an emergency brake for when I have no Gold to spare, but in my experience the Gold versions are noticeably stronger.

A booster works either only for me or for the whole cooperative

Each competitive event has two basic booster versions. The personal booster raises the number of points I earn from the event myself. The cooperative (co-op) version raises the points of every other member of my Cooperative taking part in the same event by the same percentage on top of that.

Both versions can also be bought in two currencies. I pay for the Gold booster with Gold and for the Dollar one with Dollars - from my own experience the Gold version tends to be a good deal stronger than the Dollar one, so if I am after the highest placement possible, I reach for that one.

The Cruise ship rewards completed tasks

In the Cruise ship event you collect so-called Cruise points for completing tasks. The personal booster (in the shop under the names Full speed ahead or Captain's privilege) raises the number of Cruise points I get from tasks. The cooperative version (Strong crew, All hands on deck) also raises the Cruise points of every cooperative member by the same percentage.

The cooperative tour counts reputation points from missions

The cooperative tour works in a similar way, with reputation points collected for completed missions. The personal booster (Reputation is the road to success, For the best reputation) lifts reputation only for me, while the cooperative version (Reputation is everything, Keeping up your reputation) adds the same percentage for the whole cooperative too.

The silo runs in three different versions

  • The classic cooperative silo event - has a personal booster (Key to success for Gold, High ambitions for Dollars) as well as a cooperative version (Successful cooperation, Together to success), which adds points for the other cooperative members too.
  • Single event - a standalone version of the silo, with only the personal point booster available.
  • Fishing event - its own personal point booster tied to this one event only.

The same pairs of names (Key to success, High ambitions) show up again in the single event and the fishing event, because it is the same type of bonus, just tied to a different event.

Buildings and products mentioned in the text

Tip from a veteran player I buy the cooperative booster right before several people from the cooperative get stuck into scoring points at the same time, for example at the start of the final round of an event, so that as many players as possible make use of the effect and not just me.
Most common mistake The most common mistake is buying the personal booster where a cooperative version is available as well - I rob myself of a bonus for the whole cooperative even though it would cost me about the same, and the cooperative gets a smaller chance at a better spot in the standings.

FAQ

What is the difference between a personal and a cooperative booster
The personal booster raises the event points only for me, while the cooperative (co-op) version also raises the points of every other member of my Cooperative taking part in the same event by the same percentage.
Why are three different boosters sold for the silo
Because the silo shows up in Big Farm in three versions - the classic cooperative silo event, the standalone single event and the fishing event - and each of them comes with its own personal point booster.
Does the cooperative tour booster raise reputation for my teammates as well
Yes, the co-op version (Reputation is everything, Keeping up your reputation) raises the reputation points from missions for me and for every cooperative member, while the personal version only applies to me.
Is the Gold booster better than the Dollar one
In my experience yes, the Gold version tends to be stronger; I treat the Dollar one more as a cheaper substitute when I happen to be short on Gold.
