Oktoberfest in Goodgame Big Farm
Oktoberfest is a seasonal Goodgame Big Farm event that takes place around the festival tent in the cooperative village. Inside the tent I take on themed contracts, and to fill them I make treats and drinks in the stalls right next to the tent out of ordinary farm products and the event's seasonal crops. Completed contracts earn me points in the festival leaderboard and pull new visitors into the tent, who then bring me even more points.
Oktoberfest is worth throwing yourself into - I work through the contracts as they come and focus above all on the moments when the tent is packed with visitors, because that is when the points are highest and there is no risk of losing what I have already banked.
The festival tent in the cooperative village is the heart of the whole event
Oktoberfest contracts show up right in the festival tent that stands in the cooperative village. I drop by the tent regularly, because the timer on a contract starts running the moment the order arrives, not when I finally notice it - the guests in the tent are hungry and they are in no mood to wait.
If I fail to finish a contract in time, or turn it down straight away, some of the guests leave the tent. Every completed contract, on the other hand, draws new people in, so the tent gradually fills up and the following contracts are worth more points.
Contracts combine everyday farm products with the seasonal event crops

In the stalls right next to the tent, farm products and event crops are turned into all sorts of treats and drinks for the Oktoberfest guests. There are three event crops - tomatoes, spring water and sugar beet. I grow them on a Field on the main farm and buy the seed in the seed shop, in the Oktoberfest seeds tab.
For every event seed I sow, I also get King Ludwig coins - the Oktoberfest currency I later spend on upgrading the stalls. Judging by the names I have run into, the contracts differ both in the type of customers and in what they ask for.
- Fresh order
- Festival order
- Large group
- Pleasant customers
- Hungry customers
- Fast plates
- Flying plates
- Foreign visitors
To upgrade a stall I need recipe ingredients on top of King Ludwig coins, meaning the goods that the particular upgrade calls for. An upgraded building also adds points to the event leaderboard all on its own.
Points per contract grow with the number of visitors in the tent
How many points a completed contract is worth depends on how many visitors I have in the tent at that moment. The fuller the tent, the bigger the payout for a single contract - which is why it pays off to clear contracts in waves, when there is a crowd, rather than handing them in one by one as soon as they pop up.
An empty tent is nothing to worry about either. Points already scored in the leaderboard stay there even if every last visitor walks out - I just start filling contracts again and bring the customers back.
I pick the difficulty level only once at the start of the event
When Oktoberfest kicks off I choose a difficulty level, which decides how demanding the contracts are and how big the rewards get. The game recommends a level based on my player level, but I can pick a different one - if I do, it asks me one more time whether I really mean it, because the choice cannot be changed later.
Both leaderboards and the end of the event bring rewards
I collect points separately in the player leaderboard and in the cooperative leaderboard - in both cases the final reward depends on which group of top players, or top cooperatives, I end up in, whether on my own or together with my cooperative.
Once Oktoberfest is over, any King Ludwig coins I have not spent are automatically swapped for something I can use right on the farm, so no leftover event currency goes to waste. Every now and then I also come across a sleeping worker who brought a few barrels along from the celebrations - I just wake him up and keep one barrel as a bonus reward.
