What it's for

You can use these special seeds in the greenhouse to breed Nordic fruits, which you can load onto Captain Barnacle's ship when he docks in the harbor and asks for them.

Special gooseberry seeds are the pricier special variant of regular gooseberry seeds, also available from level 30 on the Main, Gourmet and Flower farms. Unlike the regular seeds, they can be crafted directly in the Farm laboratory. You use them just like ordinary seeds, by planting them in the Greenhouse, where they grow into Gooseberries for Captain Barnacle's ship. The base price of 1250 Gold shows how much rarer the resource is than the classic seeds at 55 Gold.

How to get it

The cheapest and fastest way is crafting them yourself in the Farm laboratory, where one unit needs 8 Common catalysts and 1 Gooseberry, done in one minute and twenty seconds. The recipe is the same at all laboratory levels from 9 to 22, so upgrading the building beyond that point makes production neither cheaper nor faster. You can't buy them in the shop, so crafting is the only available route.

You use them exactly like regular gooseberry seeds, meaning you plant them in the Greenhouse and grow Gooseberries for Captain Barnacle's ship.

Tip from a veteran player Before you start crafting, have a stock of 8 Common catalysts and 1 Gooseberry per unit ready in advance, so the laboratory doesn't sit idle.

Most common mistake A common mistake is to start production without enough catalysts in stock, or on the other hand to reach for the more expensive special variant even where regular seeds would do.
