In spring George turns up on the farm complaining that he can't take a single step without treading on a hidden egg, and he asks you to find out together who is actually behind that flood of chocolate treats. The daily task is to find 10 eggs hidden around the farm, and the hunt runs separately on every farm you have unlocked. The eggs you collect gradually turn into chocolate, and that can be traded for rewards including the Big Farm Easter flag.
I treat it as a quick daily ritual - a few clicks on the hidden eggs on each farm are worth it, because you can pick up the rewards pretty much just by dropping in regularly and playing as usual. If you don't manage to get through it every day, there's no need to panic, because even after the timer runs out you can buy the remaining rewards for Gold at a discount based on the tasks you completed.
The egg hunt comes alive with spring and with George
George kicks off the seasonal event with a line about how, now that spring is here, he can't take a step without treading on a hidden egg, and he invites you to find out together who is really behind that flood of chocolate treats. The brief is simple - find 10 eggs hidden around the farm every day.
The game keeps track of how many eggs you have found over the whole event, so you can follow your own progress even after several days of playing.
Eggs are counted separately on every farm
If you have the Gourmet farm, the Flower farm, the Cooperative village or the Horse ranch unlocked, the game runs its own "today's activity" for each of them - eggs are hunted and counted there on their own, not together with the Main farm. In practice that means it pays to work your way through every single one of your farms during the hunt, not just the main one.
When an egg just won't turn up, you can buy a highlight for a hidden egg with Gold. You only get to buy another hint once you have actually found the currently highlighted egg, though, so there's no way to stock up on several hints in advance.
Chocolate rewards activity, not idling
After the eggs comes the second phase - collecting chocolate. It doesn't show up on the farm by itself, though. The game explicitly says it only appears when you're active and busy with harvesting and production. Anyone who just looks around the farm without harvesting won't find any chocolate.
On top of that, you can buy any missing chocolate with Gold at any time, which comes in handy when you want the reward for sure and don't feel like waiting for chocolate to turn up on its own during normal play.
The Easter flag is the reward and the rest can be bought after time runs out
According to the event description in the market, the main reward for helping George with the hunt is the Big Farm Easter flag. Besides the final reward, the game keeps praising partial progress along the way, for example with a line telling you you're doing well when you have only found part of the task.
When the time for the hunt runs out and you haven't managed to finish every task, the game offers one last chance - you can buy the remaining rewards with Gold, and the price drops depending on how many tasks you managed to complete before the end.
