What it's for

You can use these seeds in the greenhouse to breed Nordic fruits, which you can load onto Captain Barnacle's ship when he docks in the harbor and asks for them.

Gooseberry seeds are a secondary resource you plant in the Greenhouse on the Main farm, Gourmet farm or Flower farm. You unlock them in the game from level 30 and they are used to grow Gooseberries, the Nordic fruit tied to Captain Barnacle's ship visits in the harbor. With a base price of 55 Gold they are, along with Elderberry seeds, among the cheapest basic seeds, so they act as the entry point to this whole cycle. On their own they produce nothing until you plant them.

How to get it

You can't buy these seeds in the shop and I have no production recipe for them in the game, so they can't normally be bought or crafted from other resources. The listed base price of 55 Gold reflects their value, not a shop purchase price. So treat every unit that comes your way carefully and don't waste it on experiments.

What to do with it

You plant them in the Greenhouse and grow Gooseberries, which you then load onto Captain Barnacle's ship once it docks in the harbor and asks for gooseberries. If you have no use for the grown gooseberries at the moment, they can also simply be sold.

Tip from a veteran player Before you plant the seeds, check whether Captain Barnacle's ship is currently in the harbor asking for gooseberries, so you can put the grown fruit to use right away.

Most common mistake A common mistake is planting the seeds without thinking and then leaving the grown Gooseberries sitting around because there is no demand for them at the moment.
