Prime Day and Prime offers
Prime Day is not one single event but a bundle of several connected offers that all revolve around buying gold. The money you spend during the event earns you progress on the wheel of fortune, fills up a water container for exclusive rewards and moves you up the Prime purchases ladder. I have written down how the individual mechanics actually work in game, so you know your way around right from your first Prime Day.
Prime Day is worth watching mainly if you are planning a bigger gold purchase anyway - all the mechanics (the wheel, the container, the Prime sale, Prime purchases) are tied to spending you would often do even without the event, and they simply add a bonus on top. Buying gold purely because the event is on, without actually needing it in game, makes no sense to me.
Prime Day puts several offers together at once
While the event runs, the wheel of fortune, the water container, the Prime sale on buildings and items and on top of that the Prime purchases ladder are all going at the same time. Every one of these mechanics is tied to how much gold you buy during that period.
- The game also shows you offers put together for your level - the most popular products at a good price.
- One-off offers outside the usual range turn up too, for example a unique profile picture or a country flag.
- Plenty of offers show how many times you can still use them before the time limit runs out, or a countdown of the time remaining.
The way I see it, it pays to go through everything that is currently active at the start of the event and only then plan your purchases - rather than buying on impulse based on the first offer that pops up.
The wheel of fortune charges up with every gold purchase
The wheel of fortune is linked directly to buying gold, as every purchase charges it up according to its size. A spin can win you bonus gold on top, without paying anything extra for the spin itself.
Once the wheel is charged to the maximum, the super wheel with even bigger bonuses unlocks. The super wheel is only available while the current offer is running, though, so there is no point saving it for later - if it is unlocked, use it right away.
The water container unlocks an exclusive Prime sale and the golden flower
The second mechanic is built around the story of a golden flower that drops gold when it blooms. To bloom, it needs a container filled with water, and you fill that up by buying gold during the event.
- When you buy at least the set amount of gold, the container fills up and you get a free reward - the game shows you straight away what it is worth in gold and what percentage of your purchase value the reward represents.
- A filled container also unlocks an exclusive Prime sale with a discount on one specific item.
- In variants with two rewards, a lower amount is enough for the smaller one (typically a profile picture), while getting both at once takes more spending.
- Once you fill one container, you can start another right away and carry on with the same principle all over again.
An interesting detail from the description is that the gold needed to fill the container is not taken out of your account on top of anything - it is gold you are buying anyway, it just counts towards your progress on the container at the same time.
The Prime sale cuts prices on buildings, upgrades and individual items
The Prime sale shows up in several forms at once and it is always a percentage discount for a limited time.
- A discount on building premium buildings and upgrading them for gold.
- A discount on all levels of production boosts on the farm.
- A discount on a whole category of items, or the other way round on just one specific item.
- A discount on upgrading one specific building.
- Special one-off offers - a unique profile picture or a country flag.
When several discounted Prime sales apply to the same building at once, the game automatically uses the one with the higher percentage - discounts do not stack, so there is no point hoping that stacking them will land you an even better price.
Prime Time and Prime purchases reward you for what you spend
Prime Time is a different kind of offer - for a limited time you get a set percentage more game currency for the same price than usual. The boosted version is called Super Prime Time. With the Prime Time 100 variant, buying a gold package gets you the same package once more for free, or a percentage on top of the free package.
Prime purchases work like a ladder, so the more gold you spend in total during the event, the bigger the reward you get at the end. The game keeps showing how much you have spent so far and how much it takes for the next reward in line - the question is whether you can make it all the way to the top of the ladder.
