Silo, manure and fertilizer
Manure and fertilizer are raw materials without which the orchards on my farm simply don't keep turning. Manure comes out of the stables as a by-product of keeping animals, and the only workshop where I process it further is the Silo. In the Silo manure becomes fertilizer, which I use to start production in my orchards, and once I build the Mixing plant on the Flower farm, part of that fertilizer goes one step further into liquid fertilizer for the citrus orchards and the olive grove.
I build the Silo the moment my farm level allows it, because without fertilizer the orchards stand idle – higher levels also cut production time a lot, so it pays to invest before manure starts sitting around unused in the stables.
Manure comes from the stables as a by-product of keeping animals

I never produce manure with a separate order – it is a by-product of the stables that keeps coming in automatically as I raise animals. The only use manure has in Goodgame Big Farm is processing in the Silo, where it becomes fertilizer for the orchards.
That is why I watch how much manure my stables actually produce and build and upgrade the Silo to keep up with it – surplus manure without a big enough Silo just sits in storage.
The Silo turns manure into fertilizer for the orchards
The Silo stands on the Main farm, takes up a 4x4 area and can be built from farm level 4. It makes fertilizer out of manure at a ratio that changes with the building level – the highest, eighth level of the Silo only unlocks at level 144, so maximum production is something I reach in the later stage of the game.
| Silo level | Price | Build time | Workers | Production |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1000 Dollars | 10 minutes | 4 | Manure x210 → Fertilizer x10 (600 experience points) in 56 minutes |
| 8 (max) | 60 000 000 Dollars | 5 days 6 hours | 45 | Manure x183 → Fertilizer x10 (600 experience points) in 15 minutes |
The difference between the first and the last level is mainly speed and manure consumption – at max level I need less manure for ten fertilizer and the run finishes in a fraction of the time compared to level 1. That is why it pays to upgrade the Silo as I go, not only once manure is overflowing from storage.
Fertilizer starts production in the orchards

I use fertilizer directly on an orchard and that starts its production. Besides ordinary fertilizer there is also Premium fertilizer and Super fertilizer, which go onto an orchard in exactly the same way.
Fertilizer is made solely in the Silo out of manure, so without a working, well upgraded Silo my orchards simply don't keep turning. That is the main reason the Silo belongs among the buildings I upgrade alongside the growth of my farm, not at the last minute.
The Mixing plant on the Flower farm makes liquid fertilizer
The Mixing plant stands on the Flower farm, measures 4x4 and opens up from level 50. It turns ordinary fertilizer into liquid fertilizer, which I use in the citrus orchards, in the olive grove and on the Flower farm.
| Mixing plant level | Price | Build time | Workers | Production |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 150 000 Dollars | 1 hour | 4 | Fertilizer x1 → Liquid fertilizer x10 (200 experience points) in 6 hours |
| 7 (max) | 2 200 000 Dollars | 1 day | 16 | Fertilizer x1 → Liquid fertilizer x10 (200 experience points) in 30 minutes |
Next to ordinary liquid fertilizer there is also Premium liquid fertilizer and Liquid super fertilizer for higher production levels, plus Prime liquid fertilizer, which I use on the Flower farm. Just like with the Silo, a higher level above all shortens the production time dramatically – from six hours at level 1 down to half an hour at maximum.
The farm cycle links stables, silo, mixing plant and orchards

The game sums this up as the farm cycle – animals in the stables produce manure, the Silo turns it into fertilizer, fertilizer starts production in the orchards, and through the Mixing plant on the Flower farm part of that fertilizer becomes liquid fertilizer for the citrus orchards, the olive grove and the Flower farm.
Once I connect this chain and build each of these at matching levels, the farm economy holds together on its own and I never run short of a raw material in the middle of the chain.
