What it's for

Corn grows in fields and can be made into chicken feed in the mill.

Corn grows on the same fields as wheat - the field, the fertile field and the wintry fertile field on the main farm. In the windmill it is turned into chicken feed, so it is the backbone of your egg production. You also need it on the motorboat and the other fishing boats as an input for catching oysters, mussels, prawns, herring, tuna and lobster. The base price in the shop is 60 Dollars apiece.

How to get it

With corn the money recipe pays off almost every time - on the field, 50 Dollars gets you 15 units in just 5 minutes, which is about 3.3 Dollars per unit and at the same time the fastest cycle of all recipes. Special corn seeds give much more at once, 200 units per hour on a level 1 field and even more on higher field levels, so they come in handy when you want to fill your storage in one go instead of dozens of clicks. Obsidian corn seeds manage 1500 units in 4 hours, their stronger versions XL 2160 and XXL 2820 units, which is an exceptionally high number for a single unit of seed used, even though it is a rare resource tied to corn only.

What to do with it

Corn is used by the windmill for chicken feed, by the nursery and the farm laboratory for special corn seeds and by the kitchen at The Mermaid Bay for blackened tuna tacos and fish kebab. The biggest demand, though, you will find on the water - the motorboat, the motor barge, the Norfolk punt and the fishing houseboat all need it as an input for oysters, mussels, prawns, herring, yellowfin tuna and lobster. Any surplus can of course also be sold straight away or offered in customer contracts.

Tip from a veteran player I plant corn in short five-minute batches for money whenever I am actively playing - it works out cheaper and faster than waiting for longer cycles.

Most common mistake The mistake is leaving the boats sitting without fuel because you forget that corn is not just chicken feed but also an input resource for fishing.
