What it's for

Obsidian corn seed is an upgraded version of the classic seed that you can only make in the Winter garden on the obsidian farm. It doesn't grow anywhere else on its own and you can't buy it in the shop, it's purely a crafted intermediate product. You use it on the main farm, on any field where you'd normally plant corn. It's the first and weakest tier of obsidian corn seed, with the XL and XXL versions above it.

How to get it

The only route to this seed leads through the recipe in the Winter garden, where 1 unit needs 10 units of a good from the obsidian farm, 2 Special corn seeds and 84 Obsidian manure, and production takes 2 hours. The recipe is the same on all six building levels, so there's no reason to wait for a higher-level Winter garden hoping for cheaper production. Since the seed can't be bought, all your planning comes down to how much Obsidian manure you have, and that's clearly the most expensive item here.

What to do with it

The seed belongs on the main farm, where you plant it in any corn field, from the plain Field through the Fertile field, Wintry fertile field, Rural fertile field and Autumnal fertile field up to the Glorious field, Deluxe field or Spectacular field. Neither the recipe nor its uses mention anything else, no selling, processing, missions or co-op, so treat it purely as an input to the corn sowing cycle.

Tip from a veteran player Before you queue the recipe, count up your Obsidian manure for all the planned batches at once so production doesn't stall halfway through a two-hour cycle.

Most common mistake The most common mistake is confusing Special corn seeds with the ordinary corn seeds in your storage, the recipe simply won't start without the special ones.
