Titles, avatars and flags

A farmer profile in Big Farm is more than just a name above the farm. It shows your profile picture, your collection of production badges, your sticker points and your reputation points, and on top of that you can decorate the farm with flags that every visitor gets to see. On this page I sum up where avatars and flags come from and what the badges on the profile actually mean.

These are purely cosmetic touches with no direct effect on what the farm produces, but they are worth a couple of minutes of your time - a nicely decorated farm with an up-to-date avatar and a flag makes a far better impression on visitors from your cooperative than the default setup nobody ever bothers with.

The farmer profile brings your avatar, flag and badges together in one place

When you open your own profile or another farmer's profile, the first thing you see is the profile picture, with a few values and buttons underneath it. These are the items you get.

• Profile picture - the avatar you currently have set
• Sticker points - tied to the sticker album you open from the profile
• Reputation points - another value tracked on the profile
• Cooperative - which cooperative the farmer belongs to, with a link to the cooperative overview

From the profile you can also jump to the leaderboard in one click, look for a cooperative or rename your own farms - the buttons for all of that are part of the profile screen itself.

New profile pictures come from horse competitions and can sometimes be bought

According to the in-game help, profile pictures are your chance to show off in the world of Big Farm. New avatars drop as a reward from horse competitions and every now and then they can be bought as well.

Once you have several pictures in your collection, you flip through them in the profile picture window and set the one you want with the Use as profile picture button. What works for me is to check after every horse competition whether a new avatar turned up among the rewards - it is easy for one to sit unused in the collection while the farm keeps showing the old default picture.

You win flags in events and hang them on the farm as decoration

According to the help, flags are a reward from certain events. As soon as you win one, you will find it in your inventory and you decorate the farm with it from there.

Any player can drop by your farm in Big Farm, so a flag is a simple way to give the place a look of its own and show that you took part in a particular event. It is worth going through the inventory once an event wraps up - a flag will not plant itself and without your input it just stays another line in the list.

Badges show the pairs of goods that appear on your profile

Besides the avatar and the flag, the profile also shows production badges. They are named after specific goods and feeds, and most of them cover a pair of products from the same production chain, for example:

• Chicken feed and eggs
• Cow feed and milk
• Pig feed and pigs
• Donkey feed and donkeys
• Goat feed and cow feed
• Granulated feed, cabbage and meadow flowers

Alongside these pairs there are also badges for individual goods - Wheat, Corn, Alfalfa, Parsnip, Turnip, Cabbage, Elderberries, Fertilizer, Manure, Raw wool or Angora wool. I treat them as unofficial farmer titles - the game itself never uses the word title, but the result is much the same, an overview of everything you have already worked with on the farm.

Stickers, the leaderboard and your cooperative round out a farmer's calling card

The profile ties in other parts of the game as well. The Take a look at your sticker album button sends you to the stickers you have collected, the leaderboard button shows how you stack up against everyone else, and through the profile you can open your own cooperative or search for another one with the cooperative search button. If you run several farms, you can rename them straight from here too.

None of these items has any effect on production, but together they make up the calling card seen by everyone who opens your profile - usually the fellow players from your own cooperative.
