What it's for
Cow feed can be used on a cowshed to start production.
Cow feed is a basic resource for livestock on the Main farm. I make it from wheat in the Windmill, and without it the Cowshed won't even get started. It's the first link in the chain that leads to milk and manure, so I need to keep topping it up constantly. It can't be bought in the Shop, so making it yourself is the only way.
How to get it
It's produced in the Windmill or its upgraded version, the Efficient windmill, from wheat. At level 1 the recipe uses 82 wheat for 10 cow feed and takes 2 hours 15 minutes, but the ratio improves as you upgrade the mill - at level 10 you need only 58 wheat for the same 10 feed and it's done in 27 minutes. Since the feed can't be bought, it pays to upgrade the mill step by step so I get more feed out of the same wheat, and faster.
What to do with it
I send the feed straight to the Cowshed and its upgraded variants (Tropical, Candy, Copious, Capacious, Colossal and Spring cowshed), where it turns into milk and manure. I also use part of it in the Farm laboratory to make Premium cow feed.
