What it's for

Cabbage grows in fields and can be made into pig feed in the mill.

Cabbage grows on the same fields as wheat and corn - the field, the fertile field and the wintry fertile field on the main farm. In the windmill it is turned into pig feed and pellet feed, so it keeps your pig farming and other feed chains running. It sells in the shop for 50 Dollars apiece.

How to get it

The money recipe produces 40 units on the field for 115 Dollars in 45 minutes, which works out at just under 3 Dollars per unit and is a solid everyday choice. Special cabbage seeds do give more units at once, 240 units on the first field levels, but only after 4 hours, so the yield per hour is only slightly better than the money recipe and they tie up your fields for a long time. Obsidian cabbage seeds are strikingly fast - in the XXL variant they produce 190 units in just 15 minutes, making them one of the fastest turnarounds of all field crops, even though they are a rare resource tied to cabbage only.

What to do with it

Cabbage is processed by the windmill into pig feed and pellet feed and by the nursery and the farm laboratory into special cabbage seeds. You also need it at The Mermaid Bay for carp pirozhki, fresh fish salad, grouper steak and fish kebab, at the fish stand for fish salad and in the salad bar for fresh salad and Greek salad. The rest of the harvest will usually go to direct sale or customer contracts as well.

Tip from a veteran player Use obsidian cabbage seeds as soon as you get them - the fifteen-minute cycle quickly frees your field up again for the next harvest, so there is no point saving them.
Most common mistake The mistake is planting special cabbage seeds in the belief that they are always the best choice - because of the four-hour cycle they tie up your fields for a long time for only a slightly better yield than the plain money recipe gives.
