What it's for

Vanilla grows in the meadow.

You plant vanilla on meadows both on the Main farm and on the Flower farm, so it's more versatile than lavender or jasmine. Its uses are very broad - besides the shop I also process it in the ice cream truck and the dairy. That makes vanilla one of the key ingredients linking flower and food production.

How to get it

The Dollar recipe on a meadow costs 2000 Dollars and gives 110 pieces in 6 hours at level 1; with a higher meadow level the yield keeps growing while the time stays the same. The seed recipe with Special vanilla seeds is very fast by contrast - just 45 minutes per batch, so it's a good choice when you're at the game and want to turn the meadow over often. Buying in the shop for 750 Dollars a piece isn't worth it, your own production comes out noticeably cheaper even with the meadow time factored in.

What to do with it

Vanilla goes to the shop for Sweet scented oil and Honey cream, then to the ice cream truck for Ice cream and to the dairy for Flan. Part of the production I also process into Special vanilla seeds in the Farm laboratory or Nursery.

Tip from a veteran player With the seed recipe taking only 45 minutes, it pays to turn the meadow over often if you happen to be online - you'll squeeze out more cycles than if you waited on the long Dollar recipe.
Most common mistake A common mistake is treating vanilla as just a side ingredient for perfumes - because of ice cream and flan the demand tends to be higher than players expect, and then they run short for food production.
