In my view it is a cheap and quick way to put surplus vanilla to good use, as long as you have the Farm laboratory unlocked.

What it's for

Special vanilla seeds are grown in the nursery and have a different growth rate and yield to normal seeds.

Special vanilla seeds are upgraded seed for the Flower farm that grows at a different speed and with a different yield on the Meadow than ordinary seed. I make them in the Farm laboratory or in the Nursery from basic Vanilla. Planted on the Meadow they grow into Vanilla again, just on better terms. The base value of one unit is 500 dollars.

How to get it

The best route is the Farm laboratory from level 15 - for 1 Common catalyst and 3 Vanilla you instantly get 3 units of seed there, so without losing any extra vanilla. The Nursery is worse or at best the same, at level 1 you spend 10 Vanilla over 2 hours 30 minutes for 3 units, and at level 8 it is 3 Vanilla for 3 units in 45 minutes, which is the same ratio as in the laboratory, just slower and with extra ingredients on top. They cannot be bought in the shop.

What to do with it

Sow them on the Meadow or its upgraded variants - the Friendship meadow, Fertile meadow, Glorious meadow, Deluxe meadow and Spectacular meadow - and Vanilla will grow from them.

Tip from a veteran player As soon as your laboratory reaches level 15, stop making the seeds in the Nursery, in the laboratory the vanilla ratio is 1 to 1 and there is no waiting on top of that.

Most common mistake It is a shame to waste time in the Nursery when the laboratory recipe gives you the same or a better number of units in a fraction of the time and without needless extra ingredients.
