The Copious cowshed is an enlarged version of the classic cowshed on the Main farm, with the same 16x10 footprint as its sister building, the Capacious cowshed, but with higher milk output than an ordinary cowshed. It turns cow feed, which you make in the windmill from wheat or alfalfa, into milk, and as a by-product it drops manure into the silo. It suits players who want to boost their milk and cream output without having to hunt for extra free space on the farm. On its own it won't process the milk into finished goods, so it will typically stand next to a dairy or another processing chain.

When to build it

The first level unlocks at player level 13 for 280,000 dollars and 16 hours 40 minutes of building time, but it demands 12 workers straight away, so it makes sense to build it once you have enough housing and decorations on the farm to cover the happiness of that many people at once. For a newcomer at level 13 it is a hefty investment in both money and manpower, but it pays you back with a steady flow of milk that you need for further processing. It is worth building as soon as you meet both the level and the worker requirement, because you will be needing milk non-stop for the rest of the game.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading makes sense in pretty much every case, because the amount of feed per batch stays at the same 10 units on all levels, while milk output grows from 460 on the first level to 1020 on the tenth and manure production rises from 194 to 300 units. The upgrade price climbs steeply though, from a few hundred thousand dollars at the start up to 145 million for the ninth level, and the tenth level is paid for with 15,000 diamonds while demanding 36 workers, so it is worth reaching for once your economy is running and you have manpower to spare. For that price you do get more milk out of the same amount of feed, which means higher efficiency per batch.

Tip from a veteran player Before you start upgrading to the higher levels, keep a stock of cow feed ready in the windmill - with rising output and a production time of 3 hours 30 minutes the cowshed will otherwise just sit there empty for nothing.

Most common mistake The most common mistake is upgrading the cowshed to a higher level without having enough happiness on the farm for the increased number of workers - the building does produce more milk, but unhappiness pushes your production costs up.
