The Colossal cowshed is clearly the best choice among the cowsheds on the Main farm, as long as you have enough workers and stable feed production. I'd leave the last level for diamonds until the late game, when it brings a real benefit relative to its price.

The Colossal cowshed is a bigger and more powerful alternative to the regular Cowshed on the Main farm, just as its in-game description promises. It produces milk and manure for the silo, and cream belongs to it too, and to run it needs cow feed mixed in the Windmill from wheat or alfalfa. At level one it costs you 280,000 dollars, construction takes 16 hours 40 minutes and you need 12 workers for it. It's a building for players who have a secured supply of feed and want to get more out of milk and manure than the regular Cowshed gives.

When to build it

According to the level table it's available as early as player level 13, so it's one of the first bigger buildings for keeping cows that you'll go for. It's worth building once you have stable cow feed production in the Windmill and enough free workers to staff it, at level one you need 12 of them. Given its large 16x10 footprint, one was enough for me on the Main farm, and I handled further output increases through upgrades rather than by building a second one.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading pays off quite well. From 10 units of regular cow feed you get 552 milk at level one, at the top level the same amount of feed already gets you 1224 milk, more than double, and manure production grows too, from 194 to 290 units. The price rises gradually from a million dollars at level two up to 145 million at level nine, but level ten isn't paid in dollars but in 15,000 diamonds and is on top of that gated behind player level 134, which is a clear signal that it's a goal for advanced players, not a given.

Tip from a veteran player Recipes with obsidian feed take just as long as regular cow feed, 3 hours 30 minutes, but give you far more experience per cycle, for instance Obsidian feed XXL adds an extra 5000 XP, so it's worth using them whenever you happen to have them available, even at the cost of higher ingredient consumption.

Most common mistake The most common mistake is upgrading the cowshed to a high level without securing a matching supply of feed in the Windmill, the building's colossal capacity then sits unused because the ingredients for full utilization are missing.
