The Winter cowshed is a seasonal variant of the classic cowshed for the Main farm - it's built and upgraded with gold instead of dollars and the game describes it as a building with better results than regular cattle farming. On an 8x5 plot it turns cow feed into milk and, as a by-product, manure for the silo, so it sits in the middle of the economic cycle between the fields with the windmill on one side and milk processing on the other. You can't buy it in the shop the usual way, so you have to get it another way, but once you have it, its output clearly beats the ordinary cowshed. It suits anyone who wants to raise milk production without building another classic cowshed.

When to build it

Once you get the Winter cowshed, it pays to put it into production right from level one - it's accessible from player level 4 and the entry cost of 18,000 gold is a good investment for 530 units of milk per batch. One is enough, because it's a unique building tied to a specific livestock spot.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading pays off gradually as your farm grows - the gold price climbs from 18,000 up to 75,000 at level nine, but level ten already costs 15,000 diamonds and only unlocks around player level 124, so you'll go for it more as a late luxury. Meanwhile the milk yield rises from 530 to 1173 units for the same 7 hours of production, so more than double, which makes upgrading clearly worthwhile.
