What it's for

You can plant spruce edge plants on your fields and use them to build your cooperative village.

Spruce wood is a border resource for the Cooperative village - I harvest it from spruce trees that I plant along the edge of a Field, Meadow, Fertile field or Garden next to the main crop. It is the cheapest of the four resources of this type and the main building material for Cooperative village buildings. On top of that, I also process it in two factories into further resources. Because it grows right on the border of an already planted plot, it does not take up any extra free plot.

How to get it

The only way to produce it is to plant the trees on the border of a Field, Meadow, Fertile field or Garden for 510 village dollars per 5 minutes; the yield grows with the building level from 25 pieces to 36 at level ten of the Field and Fertile field, while on the Meadow and Garden it tops out at 35 pieces at level nine. The Shop does not sell spruce wood, so you have to produce it yourself. I always plant it at the highest unlocked level of all four buildings at once, because the seed price stays the same and you get more pieces for the same cost.

What to do with it

You will mainly spend it on constructing buildings in the Cooperative village. Process the surplus in the Wood and textile factory into shingles, resin or paint, or in the Mineral and metal factory into a thermos.

Tip from a veteran player Plant the borders of the Field, Meadow, Fertile field and Garden at the same time, so one harvest supplies both the village construction and both factories at once.

Most common mistake Players forget about the border areas and leave them empty, and then they run short of spruce wood right when they want to build the next Cooperative village building.
