What it's for

A pretty good construction material for buildings. You can produce them in the timber and textiles factory.

Shingles are a construction material you make in the wood and textile factory from oak wood and spruce wood. The recipe unlocks as early as factory level two and doesn't change with higher building levels, it's always the same 33 units per 2 hours. You use them directly for building structures, no further processing follows. That makes them one of the simpler materials, where all you need is enough input wood.

How to get it

Shingles can't be bought in the shop, the only way is production in the wood and textile factory. The recipe needs 16 units of oak wood and 25 units of spruce wood and gives you 33 shingles in 2 hours, and that's the same at factory level two as at level ten. So there's no reason to wait for a higher factory level, just have enough of both kinds of wood on hand.

What to do with it

You don't process shingles any further, they go straight into building structures in the cooperative village. It pays to produce them so they're ready just before the construction needs them.

Tip from a veteran player Since the recipe is always the same, feel free to make shingles even at a lower factory level, you lose nothing compared to a higher level.

Most common mistake The mistake is forgetting to have enough oak wood and spruce wood at the same time, without both materials production won't start, even if you have a surplus of one of them.
