Resin is made in the wood and textile factory from spruce wood and latex milk, and the recipe only unlocks at building level four. Production is fast, just an hour per batch, so you can cycle it even between shorter logins. In the farm economy it's an important intermediate, because several popular products are made from it in both the wood factory and the metal factory.
How to get it
You can't buy resin in the shop, you need at least level four in the wood and textile factory for the recipe to unlock at all. For 40 units of resin you need 117 units of spruce wood and 29 units of latex milk, production takes an hour and the ratio of materials and output doesn't change with further factory levels.
What to do with it
You send resin on for further processing, in the wood and textile factory you turn it into blockboard, canvas, a wooden box or a captain's hat, in the minerals and metals factory into a pipe bowl or a skylight. So it pays to produce it in stock according to which of these products you currently need.
