The garden is the basic growing plot on the Gourmet farm, where lamb's lettuce, barley and dandelions grow for you - the ingredients you mainly need for feed in the water mill, though the garden can also grow wood and wicker for craft materials and the occasional event crop as well. It is the equivalent of the fields and meadows on the other farms, just tailored to the gourmet farm. It takes up 9x7 and you buy it for dollars straight from the shop.

When to build it

It unlocks at level 19 together with the water mill, which it is closely tied to - without a garden you have nothing to mill. It is worth building right at the start of the gourmet farm and adding another one later if a single garden cannot keep the mill supplied with ingredients.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading pays off step by step, because it raises the yield from seeds - a special barley seed, for example, gives a hundred barley at level 1, but 540 from the same seed at max level. The price climbs from 40 000 dollars at level 1 to 18 million at level 9, with the last level waiting for player level 125.

Tip from a veteran player It pays to plant mainly special barley and dandelion seeds instead of paying dollars for the same crop - a seed gives you noticeably more produce per harvest.

Most common mistake An early mistake is building only one garden and then wondering why the water mill has nothing to process - at higher farm levels a single garden often cannot keep up with the mill's consumption.
