What it's for

A natural secondary color dye that can be used in a variety of productions.

You make purple dye from beetroot and red cabbage in the Dye factory or the Efficient dye factory. It is a Secondary material on the Gourmet farm and, alongside blue, has the longest production time of all the dyes. It is available from the start of the game with no level restriction. In the production chain it serves as an input for one specific clothing product.

How to get it

The recipe stays the same on all eight levels of both types of factory, ten beetroot and twenty red cabbage give you five purple dye in forty-five minutes. You cannot buy it, so production depends on having enough of both ingredients at the same time. Because the recipe combines two ingredients with a long time, it pays to put it into production for a longer stretch away from the game, much like blue dye.

What to do with it

You send purple dye to the Clothing factory or the Efficient clothing factory, where it is turned into the Purple summer skirt. It has no other use in the game.

Tip from a veteran player Before starting a batch, check your stock of red cabbage, because blue and green dye consume it too, so it tends to be the bottleneck more often than beetroot.

Most common mistake It is a mistake to leave the factory empty for want of red cabbage even though you have plenty of beetroot, because the recipe needs both ingredients at the same time.
