What it's for

Use winter fertilizer to grow trees and collect plant debris as a by-product. Winter fertilizer is made with dung from the animals.

Produces

The tree grove is an orchard where you grow trees using winter fertilizer, and alongside the wood you also collect plant remains as a by-product. It stands only on the Northern lights farm and needs a steady supply of fertilizer from the silo. It sits at the end of the production loop together with the berry orchard and the sheep pasture, so it suits players who already have manure and fertilizer production running. The wood it gives you feeds into the farm's other production chains.

When to build it

Build the tree grove once you have a working silo and a steady supply of winter fertilizer, because without it the grove simply produces nothing. It's a fairly big build at 8x8, so you'll need to set aside space for it on the Northern lights farm, and how many you end up building depends mainly on how much wood you want on hand for further production. Given the silo's limited capacity, though, there's no point building more groves than you can realistically keep in fertilizer.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading the tree grove pays off mainly through the yield from the same batch of fertilizer - at max level you get 300 wood and 60 plant remains from 10 winter fertilizer, twice what you get at level 1. The production time stays at 1 hour, so the upgrade doesn't speed up the cycle, it raises what the cycle brings in. The upgrade price climbs from 60,000 to 3,500,000 Snow dollars and the worker requirement with it, from 6 to 15, so it's more of an investment for later on.

Tip from a veteran player If you have event seaweed fertilizer to hand, use it first - the harvest comes in instantly, you get 30 percent more wood out of it than from regular winter fertilizer, and on top of that you pick up 1000 experience points, which plain winter fertilizer doesn't give you at all.
Most common mistake Players often leave the tree grove standing empty because they forget to top it up with fertilizer from the silo, and so they miss out on wood that's then missing elsewhere in production.
