What it's for

Sugar fields grow crops which are needed for processing later on.

Produces

The sugar field is the basic piece of farmland on the Candy farm, where you grow nutritious grass, sugar beet, sugar cane and sweet grapes for further processing. Nutritious grass, sugar beet and sugar cane all head to the sugar factory, and the only thing that goes from the field straight to the candy factory are sweet grapes, so the field is the starting point of this farm's entire production chain. At the first level it needs five workers, at the fourth already twenty. It suits anyone who wants their own raw materials on the Candy farm instead of relying on the market.

When to build it

Build it as soon as you unlock the Candy farm, because without growing your own raw materials you have nothing to feed the sugar factory or the candy production that follows. Base the number of fields on how much your processing buildings consume, one field quickly stops being enough once you get full candy production going.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading the sugar field pays off enormously, at the top level you get up to eight times the yield of sugar beet, sugar cane and sweet grapes compared to the first level, for the same cost and the same production time. It's one of the most rewarding upgrades on the Candy farm, because the production costs don't change, only the output multiplies.

Tip from a veteran player Before you upgrade the field, make sure you have spare workers, the requirement grows from five to twenty and without them you won't make any use of the upgraded capacity.

Most common mistake Players leave the field at a low level and would rather buy their raw materials or bring them in from elsewhere, when upgrading the field would give them far more material from their own production at the same cost.
