The duck coop is an animal building on the Gourmet farm that works as a seasonal counterpart to the chicken coop - it turns feed into eggs and produces manure for the silo as a by-product. It's a one-time building - once you demolish it, you can never build it again, so where you place it is a permanent decision. It suits players who want to raise egg production on the Gourmet farm without building another chicken coop and don't mind that it only unlocks at a higher level.

When to build it

You can build it from player level 29, where it costs 70,000 dollars and takes 4 hours 10 minutes to finish. Since it's a one-time building you can't put back, it pays to wait until you have a firm spot on the farm and your duck feed production sorted out - tearing it down means losing it forever.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading makes sense because production climbs a lot - with ordinary duck feed the yield rises from 360 to 800 eggs in the same 8 hours between the first and the top level, more than double, and manure output grows as well. The last, tenth level is paid for with diamonds, though, so that step comes down to whether the upgrade is worth hard currency to you.

Tip from a veteran player Use seaweed feed and its upgraded L, XL and XXL versions - they're made instantly, with no waiting time, and give more eggs than ordinary duck feed, which makes them ideal for topping up supplies fast. Basic seaweed feed gives you the same manure as duck feed, only the L, XL and XXL versions throw in more.

Most common mistake Players build the duck coop without having production of the special lamb's lettuce feed in the water mill sorted out, and the building then just sits there unused because they have nothing to feed the ducks.
