The chicken coop is the basic animal building, producing eggs and manure for the silo as a by-product. To feed the hens you need chicken feed, which you grind from corn at the mill. It takes up 5x5 and is one of the smallest animal buildings, so it fits even on a small farm. It's one of the first buildings you'll put up on your farm, because chickens are something even a complete beginner can handle.

When to build it

The coop's first level is available from level 0, so you can build it as literally one of the first buildings on your farm. It's worth having several, because you need the manure from them for the silo and you regularly use eggs in other production chains too. Build one as soon as you have the mill running chicken feed from corn.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading is worth doing as you go, because egg output with basic chicken feed rises from 31 to 62 units at level ten and manure from 10 to 24 units. Level ten can only be bought for 10,000 diamonds though, so hold off until you have diamonds to spare. Normally it's enough to take the coop to level nine for dollars. The jump to level nine also requires player level 124, which is pretty late in the game.

Tip from a veteran player Seaweed feed is processed instantly, so it's worth using whenever you have some ready and want to start another cycle straight away with no waiting.

Most common mistake Players often forget that the coop needs feed made from corn at the mill, and then end up with empty slots because they haven't prepared the ingredients for the feed in advance.
