What it's for

You can plant oak edge plants on your fields and use them to build your cooperative village.

Oak wood is the most expensive of the four resources I plant on the border of a Field, Meadow, Fertile field or Garden in the Cooperative village, and it comes from oaks planted on these plots. The yield of 15 to 23 pieces per five-minute run is the lowest of the four, which matches its base value of 380 dollars per piece. I process it in two factories into a wide range of products, including ones you also need outside the Cooperative village. It is a resource you will only encounter in the more advanced stage of building the village.

How to get it

You produce it exclusively by planting it on the border of a Field, Meadow, Fertile field or Garden, and one run takes 5 minutes. Since it is the most valuable resource of the four, I plant it at the highest unlocked level of these plots to get as many pieces as possible from one batch - the difference between the first and the last level is only a few pieces, but with a resource this valuable every piece counts.

What to do with it

In the Wood and textile factory you make shingles, blockboard or construction timber from it, in the Mineral and metal factory colored tiles, a thermos or a flacon. The rest belongs in Cooperative village construction.

Tip from a veteran player Do not waste oak wood on recipes that cheaper spruce or poplar wood can produce as well - spruce can handle shingles and the thermos too, so save oak for recipes where it is the only option.

Most common mistake The most common mistake is producing oak wood for stock the same way as the cheapest spruce wood - you needlessly block the borders of plots where a resource you are actually short of could have been growing in the meantime.
