What it's for

Liquid fertilizer helps you grow citrus fruits, plus you will receive honeydew for the apiary as well. Liquid fertilizer is made in the mixing plant using fertilizer.

The citrus orchard is the Flower farm's answer to the olive grove, only instead of olives it turns liquid fertilizer into citrus fruits, and just like the grove it also produces nectar for the apiary. It unlocks later, at player level 61, and takes up the same 10x10 tiles. You feed it from the mixing plant as well, so it's one more consumer of liquid fertilizer. It's worth it for players who want to diversify production on the Flower farm and have citrus fruits on hand for further processing.

When to build it

Build the orchard as soon as you hit level 61 and have a mixing plant that can supply several consumers at once, and if you already run an olive grove, expect the two of them to compete for liquid fertilizer. One is plenty to start with, I only add a second one once I'm burning through citrus fruits faster than I can produce them.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading pays off, because at level 1 the citrus orchard gives you 100 fruits from 10 liquid fertilizer, while at max level it's 162 for the same input and the same time, which is a noticeable jump in efficiency per tile. Nectar also climbs from 10 to 31, and that feeds straight into your apiary.

Tip from a veteran player The recipe with Seaweed liquid fertilizer XXL gives you the most citrus fruits plus a solid amount of nectar and finishes instantly, so use it when you want to harvest right away. For a longer break, start Liquid fertilizer, Prime liquid fertilizer or Liquid super fertilizer instead, they run for 6 hours and will be waiting for you when you come back.

Most common mistake People often build the citrus orchard and the olive grove at the same time without scaling up the mixing plant to match, and the result is that both of them sit idle waiting for fertilizer while production grinds to a halt.
