What it's for

Special seeds are grown in the nursery and have a growth rate and yield amount that is different from the normal seed.

Special onion seeds are an upgraded alternative to regular planting that you can't buy in the shop but have to make in the Nursery or Farm laboratory on the Gourmet farm. They are available from level 1 and have a different growth time and yield than normal seeds - you plant them back into the same garden buildings, where they give you far more onions at once. They are not meant for sale but for speeding up and streamlining your onion growing cycle.

How to get it

In the Nursery you make them from onions and two other resources, and the recipe gets cheaper as the building levels up - at level 1 it costs 10 onions and production takes 2 hours 30 minutes, at level 8 just 3 onions in 45 minutes are enough. In the Farm laboratory from level 6 you make them for Common catalyst x5 and onion x1 practically instantly, which is the fastest route if your laboratory is at a high enough level and you have catalysts to spare.

What to do with it

You plant the seeds back into the garden buildings - Garden, Fertile garden, Beach garden and their higher variants like the Glorious, Deluxe or Spectacular garden - where they give you noticeably more onions than regular planting for Dollars.

Tip from a veteran player Make seeds continuously in the Farm laboratory whenever you have spare catalysts - it frees up the Nursery's time for other resources.

Most common mistake It doesn't pay to wait for the eight-hour onion harvest from seeds if you need the resource right now - at that point the regular three-hour planting for Dollars is quicker.
