Special cotton seeds are more expensive to get going than the flax variant, because their cheap laboratory recipe comes much later. Until then you cannot do without the Nursery.

What it's for

Special seeds are grown in the nursery and have a growth rate and yield amount that is different from the normal seed.

Special cotton seeds work on the Gourmet farm the same way as their flax counterpart. I produce them in the plant nursery at the Nursery or in the Farm laboratory, and they have a different ratio of speed to yield than regular seeds. They cannot be bought in the shop, so production is the only way to get them. They unlock from level 1 and their job is to allow one big batch of cotton in the gardens. Unlike the flax seeds, though, the cheap laboratory recipe comes much later.

How to get it

In the Nursery I produce the seeds from ten pieces of cotton and other resources in two and a half hours at level 1, and the time shortens with higher building levels down to 45 minutes at level 8. The cheap recipe in the Farm laboratory, where five ordinary catalysts and one cotton are enough for an instant piece, only unlocks from level 27, which is a good deal later than with the flax variant. Until then it pays to rely on the Nursery, or to use the Winter monument 2025, which gives 3 pieces for free every 2 days as a seasonal bonus.

What to do with it

I use cotton seeds to get a bigger one-off batch of cotton in the garden, fertile garden, beach garden or their upgraded variants than the regular money recipe gives.

Tip from a veteran player Until you have the Farm laboratory at level 27, upgrade the Nursery instead. The recipes there speed up with every level and for now they are your only sensible route to seeds.

Most common mistake Sitting on a stock of cotton waiting for the far-off laboratory level 27 instead of producing seeds continuously in the Nursery in the meantime.
