Ostrich feed can be used on an ostrich enclosure to start production.

Ostrich feed is a resource you have to have ready before you can start production in the ostrich enclosure on the Obsidian farm at all. It's made from rye and plums in the feed preparation or the efficient feed preparation. Without it the ostrich enclosure stands idle, so it belongs among the resources you need to keep in stock at all times.

How to get it

You can't buy it in the shop, the only route is crafting. The recipe is the same in both buildings and at all levels, 30 rye and 75 plums give you 10 units in an hour plus 250 experience points. If you have both buildings available, the feed preparation and the efficient one, it pays to run batches side by side so the enclosure never runs dry.

What to do with it

The whole output goes to the ostrich enclosure, where ten units of feed get you an Ostrich and Obsidian manure as a by-product.

Tip from a veteran player I start a new batch of feed so that it finishes just before the enclosure runs out of the previous one, so the ostriches are never left without a resource.

Most common mistake The most common mistake is letting your rye or plum stock run out, which stops feed production and the whole ostrich enclosure along with it.
