The ostrich is an animal you raise in the ostrich enclosure on the Obsidian farm. It's one of the primary products of this farm and it's available right from the start. In the farm's economy it works as a livestock animal meant for selling, because you don't process it any further. Unlike dragon fruit you don't get it by growing it on a field, but by feeding it in the enclosure.

How to get it

You produce it in the ostrich enclosure using ostrich feed - 10 units of feed gets you 68 ostriches in 3 hours and 20 minutes, and the recipe is the same at every level of the enclosure. In the shop an ostrich costs 440 obsidian dollars per unit, which is only worth it now and then, when you've run out of feed and need to top up your stock fast.

What to do with it

Since you don't process ostriches any further, you'll mostly use them for direct sales or in customer contracts at the market hall.

Tip from a veteran player I always get a stock of ostrich feed ready in advance, so the enclosure doesn't sit empty between batches.

Most common mistake It happens a lot that the enclosure stands empty just because there's no ostrich feed - without it production stops completely.
