The efficient chicken coop is where the hens lay eggs, and alongside that manure keeps dropping into the silo, with the occasional feather too. It is a higher-output version of the ordinary chicken coop, so the same batch of feed gets me more eggs and more manure. It covers 5x5 and I can find it on the main farm right from player level 0. I need eggs for loads of recipes and contracts, and I push the manure on into fertilizer for the orchards, so this one building holds together two links of the farm economy at once.

When to build it

I get a chicken coop at the very beginning, because I need eggs almost constantly and without animals there is nowhere to get manure. At lower player levels one is plenty, and a second one only pays off once I have enough windmills to feed several animal buildings at a time and still cannot keep up with eggs.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading here is absolutely worth it, because the production time stays the same while the amount of eggs and manure doubles with the levels. From 10 chicken feed I get 31 eggs and 10 manure in 13 minutes at level 1, while at the top level the same feed over the same time gives 62 eggs and 24 manure. So it is clearly the best way to boost your output without changing your schedule.

Tip from a veteran player Prepare chicken feed in the windmill ahead of time in bigger batches, so the coop carries straight on after a harvest instead of standing there empty for nothing.

Most common mistake Players often forget that every extra chicken coop raises the number of workers and with it the unhappiness on the farm, so they build a second coop before they have enough houses or decorations, and their production ends up costing more than they expected.
