The Chunky chicken coop is a solid upgrade over the classic coop with a clearly measurable jump in output, but that last diamond level deserves a second thought.

The Chunky chicken coop is a bigger version of the ordinary chicken coop - according to the game, its 8x8 footprint delivers a higher yield than the classic small coop. It produces eggs, plus manure and feathers as by-products, and you'll keep needing those eggs in the bakery and other processing buildings. It's a building for players who have outgrown the basic coop and want to get more out of their chickens without lining up several small coops next to each other. You can't buy it in the shop the normal way, so you won't see it on your farm until you get hold of it some other way.

When to build it

The first level can be built from player level 13, but the upgrades stretch all the way to level 79, so it's a building that stays with you for a good part of the game. Once you get it, build it right away - it replaces the ordinary chicken coop and it's better to have one of these than to keep several smaller coops side by side. A second one only makes sense if you really need to feed heavy egg consumption for the bakery or other buildings.

Is it worth upgrading

The level table makes it clear that upgrading is worth it - between the first and the highest level, egg output climbs from 200 to 380 and manure from 80 to 170 in the same time with basic chicken feed, so nearly double. The price climbs just as steeply, though, from 500,000 dollars at the first level up to 150 million at the ninth, and the tenth level isn't paid in dollars but with 15,000 diamonds. Keep that in mind, because you can't finish off the last step with saved-up dollars alone.
