The seal pond is a bigger and more expensive animal building that turns seal feed into seals and an enormous amount of manure – 2400 units from a single batch at level 1 already, eight times what the penguin pond gives you. It takes up 9x8 and needs 7 to 28 workers depending on the level. It's the main source of manure for the silo on the Viking farm, so it matters to anyone who wants materials for winter fertilizer.

When to build it

Build it once you have the stone mill running and some stock of seal feed, because both the purchase price (60 thousand) and the worker demands are higher than on the penguin pond. One is enough, it's just a matter of having enough workers to staff it.

Is it worth upgrading

Just like on the penguin pond, upgrading changes nothing about the production time, 8 hours stays 8 hours even at the top level, but the output doubles – from 900 to 1800 seals and from 2400 to 4800 manure per batch. Since this is the main source of manure for the silo, the upgrade pays off mainly for the extra manure, not for the speed.

Tip from a veteran player With an eight hour cycle, start a batch before a longer break from the game, typically overnight, and save the special seaweed feed for moments when you're online and want a quick experience bonus.
