The fir grove is one of the two orchards on the Festive farm and it turns winter fertilizer into fir wood. With every batch you also get plant remains, so the building never produces just one thing. Winter fertilizer is made from animal manure, so the grove ties directly into the animal buildings on this seasonal farm. It is the basic source of wood for anyone who wants a self-sufficient Festive farm instead of buying wood for coins at the market hall.

When to build it

Build it as soon as you open the Festive farm and have spare workers, because even the first level needs 6 of them. Since it is a seasonal building tied to the event, there is no point putting construction off, because your time and space on the farm are limited. One is enough for normal running, a second one only makes sense if you have fertilizer to spare and want to build up your wood stock faster.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading pays off here, because the fertilizer consumption (10 units) and the production time (1 hour) stay the same at every level, while the output of both fir wood and plant remains doubles from level 1 to level 4. So it is a clean gain in efficiency with no higher demand on resources, only the price and the number of workers go up (from 6 to 15). It is worth taking it all the way to the top if you have enough workers on the Festive farm to staff it.

Tip from a veteran player Whenever you have event seaweed fertilizer to hand, put it into the grove first, because the harvest happens instantly and earns you a thousand experience points, while regular winter fertilizer earns you none.

Most common mistake The most common mistake is building the grove without a stock of winter fertilizer in the silo, so the building just stands there producing nothing while the workers wait on it far too long.
