Efficient vineyard – Goodgame Big FarmEfficient vineyard – Level 1

Efficient vineyard

Orchards Main farm

It's a handy shortcut for players with gold to spare, but as a purely production-driven investment the dollar Glorious vineyard is a far better deal.

What it's for

This efficient vineyard uses fertilizer from the silo to produce red grapes and fallen leaves with a higher production output than the regular vineyard.

Produces

The Efficient vineyard is a smaller orchard on the Main farm that turns processed fertilizer from the silo into red grapes and leaves. It takes up a 6x6 space and both the purchase and all nine upgrade levels are paid for exclusively with gold, not dollars. In production terms it's exactly the same building as the much larger Glorious vineyard, just on a smaller footprint and without the gradual unlocking by level, because the level 17 requirement here is the same for every level. It's mainly for players who have gold to spare and want grape production on a small footprint right now, without waiting dozens of levels like with the dollar variant.

When to build it

It's worth building from level 17, when it unlocks, and above all when you have gold you've got nothing better to spend on anyway. If you'd rather save your gold for speed-ups or special offers, hold off and gradually upgrade the Glorious vineyard with dollars instead, because both give you exactly the same production. Given that the higher levels run into tens of thousands of gold, I'd only build one on the Main farm and cover any extra grape capacity through the Glorious vineyard instead.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading pays off in production terms, because a batch of ten pieces of fertilizer gives you 400 grapes and 8 leaves in 5 hours on the first level, while on the top level the same batch in the same 5 hours gets you 861 grapes and 16 leaves. So the production time doesn't go up, only the yield does, which is pure profit. What does go up, though, is the worker requirement, from 4 to 14, so before you start pouring gold into upgrades, make sure you have enough free workers and happiness on the farm to cover them.

Tip from a veteran player When you have seaweed fertilizer on hand, use it instead of the ordinary kind, because the batch is processed instantly rather than in 5 hours and you get a nice experience bonus on top.
Most common mistake The most common mistake is expecting an expensive gold vineyard to produce more than the ordinary dollar Glorious vineyard and comparing cost per output on that basis. The numbers are identical, though, so the only things your gold buys you here are a smaller footprint and instant access to all levels.
