Orchards Island farm

A solid middle choice between mango and banana – a bit more demanding on fertilizer, but once upgraded just as generous on yield as the other plantations.

What it's for

Island fertilizer will help your coconuts grow and you'll get tropical leaves as a by-product. Island fertilizer is made from dung collected from the island farm stables.

Produces

The coconut plantation is the middle link among the three island plantations – pricier and slower than the mango one, but less demanding than the banana one. In one cycle lasting 6 hours it uses 50 units of island fertilizer and produces coconuts along with tropical leaves. It takes up 8x8 and suits players who already have a silo running with higher fertilizer output and want to diversify their harvest. It's not a plantation for quick evening profits, more for planned longer cycles.

When to build it

It makes sense to build the coconut plantation once your mango plantation is up and running and the silo makes enough fertilizer to feed a more demanding plantation that needs 50 units per cycle. Thanks to the longer six hour cycle it works well as a second plantation alongside the mango one, because the two run to different rhythms and you don't have to come back to harvest at the same moment every time. Again, base the number of plantations mainly on how much fertilizer your silo really delivers.

Is it worth upgrading

Here too the upgrade costs nothing extra in input or in time – 50 units of fertilizer and 6 hours stay the same at every level, while the coconut yield grows from 300 to 750 units at maximum, two and a half times again. The tropical leaf by-product also rises from 15 to 21 units. So it's worth upgrading practically the moment you can afford it.

Tip from a veteran player Plan the coconut plantation so the harvest falls at a time when you'll be at the game – a six hour cycle fits together nicely with logging in twice a day, for example.
Most common mistake Players often underestimate that the coconut plantation needs a lot more fertilizer than the mango one, and then their silo can't keep both plantations supplied at once.
