What it's for

Sunflowers grow in fields.

Sunflowers are among the slowest-growing field crops on the main farm, you harvest them from the field, fertile field, wintry fertile field and rural fertile field after 8 and a half hours of growth. With a base price of 3100 Dollars apiece and a fixed experience bonus with every harvest, they are one of the most profitable field crops of all. You cannot buy them in the shop though, the only way is growing them yourself.

How to get it

Sow Sunflower seeds and after 8 hours and 30 minutes you harvest a crop whose yield grows with the field level from 105 pieces at level 1 up to 240 pieces at level 10, while the growing time stays the same at all levels. Thanks to the long growing time, sunflowers are a good crop to plant overnight or before you leave the computer, because the harvest does not force you to come back to the field right away.

What to do with it

You sell sunflowers directly or use them to fulfil customer contracts in the market hall, according to the available recipes they are not sent into any further production.

Tip from a veteran player Plant sunflowers whenever you know you will not be back at the farm for a longer while, that way the long growing time of 8.5 hours costs you no time and on top of that you get a fixed bonus of 5000 experience with the harvest regardless of the field level.
Most common mistake It is a mistake to leave a sunflower field idle for a long time after harvesting, because of the long growing time every hour of delay costs you more than with faster crops.
