What it's for

Special oat seeds are grown in the nursery and have a growth rate and yield amount that is different from the normal seed.

Special oat seeds are a special seed that you sow on the Field and its upgraded versions instead of the regular seed in order to harvest Oats. According to the in-game description they have a different growth speed and yield than normal oat seeds, so they are an alternative to sowing fields the usual way. They are produced either in the Nursery or, faster, in the Farm laboratory. The base price of 15 000 Dollars shows that this is a fairly valuable raw material.

How to get it

By far the best deal is the Farm laboratory – the recipe, available from level 4, uses only 3 units of Common catalyst and 3 units of Oats and gives 2 units of seeds practically instantly. The Nursery at level 1, by comparison, needs 10 Oats and other raw materials for 3 units of seeds and production takes 2 hours 30 minutes, although both the time and the consumption gradually decrease as you level the nursery. If you have the laboratory unlocked, there is no point growing the seeds in the nursery.

What to do with it

Special seeds are used on the Field and all its upgraded forms (Fertile field, Wintry fertile field, Rural fertile field, Autumnal fertile field, Glorious field, Deluxe field, Spectacular field) instead of the regular seed, and the output is Oats again.

Tip from a veteran player Aim for the recipe in the Farm laboratory as soon as you unlock it at laboratory level 4 – you'll save yourself the long wait in the nursery as well as the extra expensive raw materials.

Most common mistake It is a waste to spend a long time growing the seeds in the nursery when you already have the laboratory unlocked alongside it – the recipe there is both faster and cheaper in raw materials.
