What it's for

You can use special seeds in the greenhouse to breed exotic fruits, which you can then load onto Captain Barnacle's ship when he docks in the harbor and asks for them.

Premium lime seeds are special greenhouse seeds that work on the main farm, the gourmet farm and the flower farm alike. In the greenhouse I grow Limes from them, an exotic fruit that ordinary plots never give you. They unlock at level 30 and cost 1250 gold. In the farm economy they serve a single purpose, filling Captain Barnacle's order when his ship is docked in the harbor and he happens to be asking for limes.

How to get it

I can't buy these seeds in the shop, they simply aren't sold there, and they have no production recipe either, so I can't craft them from another resource. All that's left is to wait until they reach my inventory some other way, and once they're there, I put them straight into the greenhouse. Price wise they're among the cheapest of the premium seeds, so there's no point hoarding them for long.

What to do with it

The seed has only one use, once the crop is grown in the greenhouse I load the finished Limes onto Captain Barnacle's ship, provided limes are what he's asking for.

Tip from a veteran player I use the seeds as soon as I get them, because the greenhouse has limited capacity and another resource would only take up the space for nothing.

Most common mistake A common one is letting the seeds sit in the inventory and only starting the limes once Captain Barnacle's ship is already docked in the harbor, since the greenhouse takes time to run and you won't make it at the last minute.
