Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is a seasonal event built around hunting for hidden heart balloons that the wind has blown all around the farms. The goal is to find the daily batch of balloons on every farm and to collect so called romantic gifts on top of that, which earn me rewards. Apart from patient searching, both the balloons and the gifts can also be bought, or I can pay Gold to be shown where they are hiding.
The event feels great for a regular daily log-in - hunting the balloons takes a couple of minutes and the romantic gifts reward normal harvesting and production anyway, so it is not extra time on top of my usual play. I would save Gold for the final days, when I am dealing with the balloons I simply failed to find.
A farmer in love needs help with the scattered gifts
The event has a simple story - a farm character is getting a romantic evening ready for her sweetheart and admits that the wind has blown the gifts and balloons she had prepared for the celebration all around the area. She asks me to help gather them up, because without them there is no way to have the most beautiful Valentine's Day.
The hunt itself follows on from that intro - the balloons are not lost somewhere at random, but hidden right around my farms, so I am looking in places I know inside out from normal play.
Every day I hunt ten heart balloons across all the farms
Each day my task is to find ten heart balloons. They are not gathered in one place, but spread across several farms that I switch between using the tabs.

- Flower farm
- Gourmet farm
- Cooperative village
- Horse ranch
Every tab shows how many balloons I have already found on that farm today, so it is easy to tell where I have not looked yet. Once I have collected every balloon on every farm, a Congratulations! message pops up and the hunt only starts again the next day.
What works for me is going through all the tabs right at the start of my session, because otherwise I easily forget that I have not even started on one of the farms.
A Gold hint helps, but you cannot stock up on them in advance
If I cannot find a balloon, I can pay Gold to have it highlighted and the game shows me exactly where it is hiding. This hint has one limitation: I cannot buy another highlight until I have found the one currently marked, so there is no way to stock up on several hints at once.
Besides highlighting, balloons can also be bought outright for Gold without having to physically find them on the farm. That option comes in handy mainly when I am running out of time and know I would not manage it by searching honestly.
I earn romantic gifts by harvesting and producing, not just by finding balloons
Balloons are not the only path to rewards - the event also counts on romantic gifts, which I earn through normal activity on the farm. The game says it outright - while hunting for romantic gifts I have to be active on the farm, meaning harvesting and producing as usual. How many gifts I already have is shown in the overview right in the event window.
When I manage to collect all the gifts my character wished for, I get a reward for it and the story wraps up with a thank you. If I am a few gifts short, the rest can be bought for Gold as well, much like the balloons.
What happens when I do not manage to finish the whole event
The event also allows for me not finding absolutely everything. For partial progress I get an encouraging message and a smaller reward - the game makes it clear that the effort counts too, not just hitting a hundred percent.
The last resort comes at the end of the event - I can buy the final reward for Gold even if I have not found every single balloon. The more balloons I managed to find myself, the lower the purchase price, so it pays to keep searching honestly for as long as possible and to spend Gold only on what really cannot be got any other way. If I miss the event completely, I only lose the balloon reward, and according to the game at least some of the romantic gifts end up with the animals on the farm.
