What it's for

This apiary produces more honey and wax than the normal one and brings a maritime atmosphere to your farm. If you demolish this building, you won't be able to build it again.

The Maritime apiary is one of the animal buildings on the Flower farm and is an upgraded variant of the regular Apiary - it gives more honey and wax. It consumes nectar, premium nectar and super nectar from the orchards on the Flower farm and turns them into honey and wax. It's a large building measuring 11x6, meant for players from level 50 who already have nectar production up and running on the Flower farm. It's not a building for beginners, but for players who want to squeeze more resources out of their existing orchards.

When to build it

The first level costs 300000 dollars, so it's a serious investment, not a building you put up just in passing. Before you place it, wait until you reach player level 50 and have nectar production in all three qualities established on the Flower farm, otherwise it just takes up 11x6 tiles for nothing. Also think in advance about exactly where on the farm you'll build it, so you don't have to rearrange the whole surrounding area because of it.

Is it worth upgrading

The difference between the first and ninth level is huge - the wax yield rises from 1 to 2 units per batch up to 78 to 93 units, and honey grows from 44 to 53 up to 110 to 136 units. Given that wax is a resource that's otherwise scarce on the farm, it's worth upgrading gradually all the way to the maximum. The price at level nine is 21,000,000 dollars and construction takes over 21 hours, so only go for it with a solid reserve of dollars.

Tip from a veteran player Because the apiary processes all three qualities of nectar with the same production time, always feed it the highest available resource, meaning super nectar - per batch, it gives you the most wax and honey of all three options.

Most common mistake Players sometimes build this building before they have enough nectar production running in their orchards, so it sits unused and just ties up 13 workers who would be put to better use elsewhere.
