Lively citrus grove – Goodgame Big FarmLively citrus grove – Level 1

Lively citrus grove

Orchards Flower farm

Mechanically it's just as strong a grove as its decorative counterpart, only more expensive, so it's mainly worth it to players who care about a particular look for their farm. If you're purely after citrus fruits and nectar, the cheaper version does the same job for fewer dollars.

What it's for

This lively citrus grove is teeming with plump fruits ready to be picked and squeezed into refreshing juices.

Produces

The Lively citrus grove is another plantation on the Flower farm, where you use the same liquid fertilizer from the mixing plant to make citrus fruits and nectar for the apiary. The in-game description paints it as a grove full of ripe fruit waiting to be harvested, but production-wise it runs exactly like its decorative counterpart of the same type. It takes up 10×6 and needs 10 to 22 workers to run depending on its level, so it belongs among the buildings for a more developed farm with manure and fertilizer production in full swing. I reach for it when I want to process a surplus of liquid fertilizer and don't mind paying a bit more for the same output.

When to build it

You can build it from player level 50, the same as with the related decorative version. It makes sense the moment the mixing plant is regularly pumping out liquid fertilizer that I have nowhere else to put, because without a fertilizer supply the grove just stays idle. Before you build it, compare the price with the Decorative citrus grove, which comes out cheaper at every level for absolutely identical production, so I only pick this version for the look of the farm.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading pays off just like with the other groves of this type. From 10 units of liquid fertilizer and 6 hours of processing you get 162 citrus fruits and 31 nectar at the top level instead of 100 fruits and 10 nectar at level one, without the input cost per batch going up. The upgrade price gradually climbs from 780,000 to 30,000,000 dollars, and the worker requirement grows with it up to 22 people, so the higher levels only make sense once you have enough dollars and spare workers.

Tip from a veteran player Before I pour ordinary liquid fertilizer into the grove for 6 hours, I'd rather check whether I have premium seaweed fertilizer on hand, because it's processed instantly and gives more fruit and more experience for the same 10 units of input.
Most common mistake A typical mistake is going straight for this pricier version without noticing that the Decorative citrus grove gives exactly the same production for a lower price at every single level.
