Decorative citrus grove – Goodgame Big FarmDecorative citrus grove – Level 1

Decorative citrus grove

Orchards Flower farm

For what this decorative version costs, it's one of the best value ways to turn surplus liquid fertilizer into citrus fruits and nectar. The downsides are the high worker requirement and the steeply rising upgrade price at higher levels.

What it's for

This decorative citrus orchard provides a relaxing sanctuary for weary workers and rambling ramblers alike.

Produces

The Decorative citrus grove is a plantation on the Flower farm where I turn liquid fertilizer from the mixing plant into citrus fruits and nectar for the apiary. It sits at the end of the production chain, so it only makes sense once I have manure production running in the silo and the mixing plant turning it into liquid fertilizer. The in-game description sells it mainly as a quiet corner for workers and tourists, but production-wise it runs exactly like a regular citrus orchard. At 10×6 and with a need for 10 to 22 workers it belongs on a more developed farm rather than at the start of the game.

When to build it

You can build it from player level 50, which is the lowest requirement across all of its levels. It pays off the moment I have a surplus of liquid fertilizer sitting in storage with nowhere to put it, otherwise the grove just stands idle and takes up 10×6 of space on the Flower farm. What's interesting is that you pay fewer dollars for the same production than with the visually different Lively citrus grove, so if the look of your farm isn't your main concern, this cheaper option is the better deal economically.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading is worth it, because from the same 10 units of liquid fertilizer and the same six hour processing time you get 162 citrus fruits and 31 nectar at the top level instead of 100 fruits and 10 nectar at level one. So the yield from the same input more than doubles over time, without the fertilizer cost per batch going up. The upgrade price climbs steeply though, from 650,000 all the way to 25,000,000 dollars, so I'd only push into the higher levels once my finances and workers are sorted, because the staffing requirement rises to 22 people.

Tip from a veteran player If I've bought premium seaweed fertilizer, I use that first, because batches made with it are processed instantly and give more fruit and more experience than ordinary liquid fertilizer, which takes 6 hours.
Most common mistake Players often build the grove before they have a steady surplus of liquid fertilizer from the mixing plant, so it stands empty most of the time waiting for supplies the mixing plant can't keep up with.
