Festive peach orchard

Orchards Gourmet farm

A stronger but slower sibling of the almond orchard, well worth building the moment it unlocks and then upgrading patiently.

What it's for

Produces wonderfully soft peaches and a higher yield than normal orchards. If you demolish this building, you won't be able to build it again.

Produces

The Festive peach orchard is the Gourmet farm's answer to the almond orchard, except it grows peaches instead of almonds, and again in bigger batches than the regular orchards. It works with larger doses of fertilizer (30 units per cycle) and a longer production time (14 hours with regular fertilizer), so it's a building for longer-term planning rather than quick harvests. Just like the almond orchard, it's a one-off building – once you tear it down, you'll never build it again. It suits players who want a steady supply of peaches on the Gourmet farm for further processing.

When to build it

It unlocks later than the almond orchard, at around player level 29, and the last level needs player level 135, so it's more of a goal for advanced Gourmet farm players. Build it as soon as it opens up, because otherwise you won't get another chance at it, even though 7 workers are enough at the first level. Just like with the almond orchard, one is all you need, because a demolished orchard can't be brought back.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading is worth it, because the output of peaches and leaves again roughly doubles – with regular fertilizer, peach production climbs from 264 to 560 units while fertilizer use stays at 30 units and production still takes the same fourteen hours. Prices at the higher levels climb into the tens of millions of dollars and the build takes several days, so it makes sense to upgrade step by step and leave the maximum alone until your fertilizer economy is solid.

Tip from a veteran player Before you fill the orchard with fertilizer, keep in mind that a regular batch runs for 14 hours – plan your harvest so the peaches don't sit there finished for longer than necessary and hold up your next cycle.
Most common mistake A common slip is underestimating how much fertilizer the peach orchard eats per batch and then leaving it standing empty while the other orchards on the Gourmet farm have plenty.
