Efficient peach orchard – Goodgame Big FarmEfficient peach orchard – Level 1

Efficient peach orchard

Orchards Gourmet farm

It's a solid upgrade on the ordinary Peach orchard that pays off for anyone who takes the Gourmet farm seriously, but because it's paid for in gold there's no point buying it on impulse.

What it's for

This efficient peach orchard uses fertilizer from the silo to produce peaches and fallen leaves with a higher production output than the regular peach orchard.

Produces

The Efficient peach orchard is the improved version of the classic Peach orchard on the Gourmet farm, takes up a 7x7 footprint and sits at the end of the production chain because it runs on fertilizer from the silo. You harvest peaches from it as well as leaves for the composter, so it feeds two systems at once. It's a premium building you buy in the shop, and both the build and every upgrade cost you gold, not dollars. It suits players who already have manure and fertilizer production up and running on the Gourmet farm and want to get more out of it than an ordinary orchard gives.

When to build it

You can build it from player level 29 and it makes sense as soon as you have a steady supply of fertilizer from the silo - otherwise it'll just take up precious space and seven workers on your farm. Since the build costs gold, it isn't a first-try building; it only pays off once your Gourmet farm is up and running. One per farm is enough for me, and it's more important to put your gold into upgrading it than into building another one.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading makes clear sense with this orchard - at level one, 30 ordinary fertilizer makes 240 peaches, while at level nine the same 30 gets you 510 peaches, more than double for the same input. The price rises from 525 to 31920 gold and the number of workers needed from 7 to 17, so check you have enough people and housing for happiness. It pays to upgrade gradually as your fertilizer production grows; there's no point having the orchard at level nine when you can't keep it supplied.

Tip from a veteran player When you're collecting gold from events, give preference to seaweed fertilizer and its L/XL/XXL versions - they produce peaches instantly and throw in a fat XP bonus on top, up to 6000 XP for a single batch, which is one of the fastest ways to rack up experience.
Most common mistake The most common mistake is buying and building the efficient orchard the moment it appears in the shop without having fertilizer production from the silo secured - the orchard then stands empty most of the time and only burns through workers.
