What it's for

This efficient almond orchard uses fertilizer from the silo to produce almonds and fallen leaves with a higher production output than the regular almond orchard.

The Efficient almond orchard is an enlarged 7x7 version of the Almond orchard on the Gourmet farm that adds a higher yield of almonds and leaves from the same fertilizer from the silo. Unlike the peach orchard it needs only 10 fertilizer per batch instead of 30, so it's easier on your silo stocks. This too is a premium building for gold that you buy in the shop, and it suits players who want to profit from almonds beyond the main peach line. It unlocks earlier than the peach orchard, so it tends to be the first efficient fruit building on the Gourmet farm.

When to build it

It's available from player level 24, so plenty of players build it as their very first efficient orchard. Here too it pays to wait until you have a surplus of manure and fertilizer from the silo, otherwise it's just an expensive farm ornament. One per farm is plenty; almonds aren't a raw material you'd need in huge quantities at once.

Is it worth upgrading

At level one, 10 ordinary fertilizer makes 180 almonds, while at level nine the same 10 gets you 400 almonds, so the yield more than doubles without having to find more fertilizer. The upgrade price climbs from 525 to 31920 gold and the worker requirement from 5 to 23, which is a noticeable jump you need to have your farm's happiness ready for. It pays to upgrade steadily, especially if you also use almonds in follow-on production, where the higher yield pays for itself quickly.

Tip from a veteran player Just as with the peach orchard, it's worth saving seaweed fertilizer and its improved variants for this orchard - it only needs 10 per batch, so you squeeze a quick harvest and a hefty dose of XP out of very little.

Most common mistake Players often build the Efficient almond orchard right after unlocking it at level 24 but leave it running on basic fertilizer alone, even though at a higher level it can put out almost double the almonds from the same input - so the building needlessly falls short of its potential.
