What it's for

A fine thread that can be produced in the spinning factory.

On the Gourmet farm I process raw wool in the spinning factory, and the result is fine wool, a thinner and higher-quality thread meant for tailoring. On its own it is just a semi-finished product with no practical value until I process it further. The base price per unit is 1000 dollars, which fits the fact that it is an intermediate product, not finished goods. You cannot buy it in the shop, so without a working spinning factory there is no way to get to the yellow wool scarf or the green winter jacket.

How to get it

The only route to fine wool runs through the spinning factory or the efficient spinning factory, where 250 units of raw wool turn into just 5 units of fine wool in 45 minutes. The recipe is the same on all eight levels of the spinning factory, so a higher building level does not give me a better ratio of input to output here. It therefore pays to stockpile enough raw wool first and then run several batches at once, rather than waiting for a building upgrade because of this recipe. You cannot buy fine wool directly in the shop, so production is the only option.

What to do with it

I need fine wool in the clothing factory or the efficient clothing factory to make the yellow wool scarf and the green winter jacket. On its own it does not belong in any mission or cooperative storage, it only makes sense as an input for further processing.

Tip from a veteran player Before you start producing fine wool, work out how much raw wool you have in stock, because 250 units per batch can empty your storage faster than you expect.

Most common mistake The most common mistake is leaving the spinning factory waiting for a higher level in the hope of a better yield from this recipe, when the 250 to 5 ratio stays the same from level one to level eight.
